IRATA rope access training
Location: Aberdeen & Kazakhstan
Duration: 5 days
IRATA Rope Access is designed to provide the skills and knowledge required to work at height where ropes and associated equipment are used to gain access to and from the work position. Our facilities include ropes areas which allow delegates to undertake practical exercises and assessments in a safe environment.
IRATA Level 1 is intended for those with no prior experience wanting to be able to work at height with ropes. The course will enable delegates to inspect and use their own equipment, assist in operations under supervision, and undertake a simple rescue.
IRATA Level 2 will provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to undertake more advanced rope access work and become a more developed and competent technician.
IRATA Level 3 is the final step for experienced rope access technicians wanting to work at a supervisory level. The course will ensure delegates have the knowledge and skills to undertake advanced rope access techniques and be competent without supervision.
Delegates will receive IRATA rope access certification on successful completion of the course and assessment.
Lift plan risk assessment
Location – Aberdeen, Abu Dhabi & Qatar
Duration – 1 day
The course is designed to suit personnel involved with day to day rigging and/or crane operations and supervisory personnel responsible for overseeing safe lifting operations.
Areas covered include health and safety legislation, planning the lifting operation and the risk assessment process. There is a practical section that sees delegates being allocated case studies where they will be expected to develop lifting plans and risk assessments for a range of routine and non-routine lifting operations.
A Sparrows certificate will be awarded on successful completion of this course which is valid for two years.
Lifting appreciation
Location – Aberdeen
Duration – 1 day
This course provides delegates with underpinning knowledge and understanding of the legal responsibilities and practicalities of offshore cranes and lifting operations. It covers areas such as lifting terminology, offshore cranes, types of rigging and lifting equipment/accessories and rigging loft management.
On completion of this course, Sparrows lifting appreciation certification is issued.
Lifting operations training
Location – Aberdeen
Duration – 3 days
This course is suitable for anyone who is involved with crane and lifting operations. It provides delegates with a knowledge and understanding of the legal responsibilities and practicalities of offshore cranes and lifting operations.
On completion of this course, Sparrows lifting operations certification is issued.
LOLER competent person revision course
Location – Aberdeen & Abu Dhabi
Duration – 2 days
The training course is ideally suited to personnel aiming to be assessed for the first time against the OPITO LCP standard.
It is also suitable for those who plan or approve lifting operations in a variety of workplaces and are responsible for ensuring compliance with company lifting procedures and legislative requirements.
Rigging loft management / lifting equipment inspection
Location – Aberdeen, Kazakhstan, Luanda, Abu Dhabi, Singapore & Qatar
Duration – 1 day
This course has been specially developed by Altrad Sparrows to ensure personnel are competent in the management and inspection of critical lifting equipment. It is aimed at personnel responsible for the issue and control of lifting equipment from a rigging loft.
The course provides delegates with better knowledge and understanding of the legal and practical requirements in running an operational rigging loft and the inspection of lifting equipment.
A Sparrows certificate will be awarded on successful completion of this course.
Wire rope inspection
Location – Aberdeen, Luanda, Abu Dhabi, Singapore & Qatar
Duration – 1 day
The course is suitable for crane inspectors, riggers, crane maintainers and any other personnel involved with inspection, maintenance and understanding op wire usage and construction.
The course provides delegates with better knowledge and understanding of the legal responsibilities and practical content required to carry out an in-service inspection on various types and construction of wire rope.
On completion of the course, delegates will receive a Sparrows training wire rope inspection certificate.
Working at height
Location – Aberdeen
Duration – 1 day
The course is best suited to anyone who is working at height and needs to understand the selection of Personal Fall Protection (PFP) equipment. It is designed to enable candidates to carry out work at height/harness safely whilst following the working at height regulations. The course provides a working knowledge of PFP best practices, carried out in compliance with BS8454.
Completion of the course provides candidates with the knowledge to select the correct type of fall protection and have the required skills to complete a pre-use inspection of the harness and lanyard assembly.
