In 2022, Sparrows Group was acquired by Altrad, a globally recognised leader in the services and construction industry. Our name has now changed to Altrad Sparrows, but the high quality you expect from our training courses remains the same.
Q. I’m booked to attend a Sparrows training course, how does the rebrand to Altrad Sparrows affect my booking?
A. The rebrand of Sparrows Group to Altrad Sparrows will not affect any previously booked training courses. If you have a course coming up, your joining instructions will provide details about your course details and attendance requirements. There will be no changes to the course content, quality or delivery. The safety, competence and excellence you expect from our courses remains the same.
Q. I have existing Sparrows certification, do I need to get a new certificate?
A. Certificates issued before the rebrand in October 2023 will remain valid until the expiry date shown on the certificate. Therefore, there is no need to request a new certificate. Certificates issued after the rebrand will include the Altrad Sparrows logo as well as the Sparrows’ training standards mark which denotes Sparrows-developed courses.
Q. Is my Sparrows Stage 3 crane operator certificate still valid?
A. Yes, your existing certification from Sparrows Group remains valid until the expiry date shown on your certificate. When the time comes to renew your certificate, you will still sit the Sparrows Offshore Crane Operator Stage 3 reassessment and receive a new certificate on successful completion. Your new certificate will carry the Altrad Sparrows logo as well as the Sparrows training standards mark which denotes Sparrows-developed courses.
Q. Does the Sparrows training standard still exist?
A. Yes, the Sparrows training standard still exists. We still retain our 45+ years’ experience in lifting operations and commitment to safety which are at the core of our course delivery. Courses developed by Sparrows will continue to be delivered to Sparrows’ standards.
Q. What training does Altrad Sparrows deliver?
A. Our training portfolio remains the same. We’re still delivering our Sparrows Offshore Crane Operator Standard alongside our other Sparrows specialist lifting courses, as well as OPITO, BFPA, and IRATA certified courses where available.
