Altrad Sparrows Secures Multi-Year Contract with bp

Altrad Sparrows is pleased to announce the award of a new multi-year contract with bp.

The newly-negotiated contract covers a three-year term, with an option to extend for an additional two years.

Sparrows initially began supporting bp’s North Sea operations in 1975 and secured its first managed contract with bp in 1977, one of the earliest in the offshore lifting sector. This innovative contracting model set the early foundations for what is now recognised as widely adopted practice across the UK Oil and Gas industry.

Under the terms of the latest agreement, Altrad Sparrows will continue delivering comprehensive maintenance support across bp’s onshore and offshore assets in the North Sea and UK. Services will include engineering and technical support, rigging and lifting equipment, training services, crane operators, and the supply of deck crew and LOLER-competent personnel.

Matt Corbin, Managing Director at Altrad Sparrows, said: “We are looking forward to continuing our work with bp, building on the long history the two companies have in the UK North Sea sector. Our teams are committed to delivering high quality and reliable services that support bp’s operations."

Supporting the contract will be 100 Altrad Sparrows offshore personnel, showcasing the depth of expertise and resources available across the organisation.

The milestone coincides with the 50th anniversary of Sparrows’ presence in the North Sea and an event held recently at Altrad Sparrows Training Centre, Tyrebagger Quarry, Aberdeen to mark the recently expanded training facility, which now offers enhanced training courses and greater capacity.
